Jimmy Carter Sells out Israel Again....So What Else Is New?

Lifetime Appeasement Achievement Neville Award Winner and former President Jimmuh Cahter has sold Israel out ....again. So what else is new. Fowllowing in the footsteps of Neville Award winners Nancy Pelosi and Dennis Kucinich Carter recently went to Syria to have "peace" talks with Hamas and it's senior rep, Nasser Shaer.

Continuing his whirlwind tour Carter went on to Cairo (probably to see if the pyramids were still standing) and claimed Hamas was a "national liberation movement". Hamas, in reality, is a death cult which has made the mythology of blood and race and anti-Semitism along the lines of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion into the linchpin of its ideology. Can you say National Socialism?

There he met with Khaled Mashaal, Hamas's exiled leader who, at the very moment he was receiving Mr. Carter, also triggered the first car bombing in several months in Keren Shalom on the Gaza strip - and that this event elicited from poor Mr. Carter, all tangled up in his small-time mediator calculations, not one disapproving or empathetic word.

So what kind of man was Carter dignifying? Meshaal has called Iran's Ahmadinejad "courageous" for denying the Holocaust. The organization he heads, Hamas, calls for the obliteration of Israel in its charter.

Just to add insult to injury Carter laid a wreath at Arafat's tomb.

Going off the rails like this is nothing new for Carter who for 30 years has not stopped vilifying Israel, comparing its political system to that of South Africa during apartheid, ignoring Israel's desire for peace, and denying its endless suffering.

A year ago, he told CBS that for years his beloved Hamas had not committed any terrorist attacks resulting in civilian casualties - this, a few months after the assassination of six people at the Karni Terminal, and the attack on Aug. 30, 2004, which killed 16 passengers in two buses in Beersheba.

Carter never met a thug or dictator he didn't love and appeasing them is nothing new. In 1994 he made a rose colored visit to Kim Il Sung in North Korea to "negotiate", along with Madeleine Albright, the now infamous "Agreed Framework" money for no nukes deal; and in 2002 he paid court to Fidel Castro. In his books Carter has written sympathetically of the late Syrian tyrant Hafez Assad, who once slaughtered over 30,000 of his own countrymen in the town of Hama to maintain his hold on power. His most recent terrorist apologia was the anti-semitic 'Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid' published in Nov. 2006 -- 14 Carter Center Board Members resigned in protest over that one.

To truly understand the totality of this man's mediocrity let's examine some of Carter's outstanding achievements during his administration:
  • Carter sells out the Shah of Iran leading to the Islamic Revolution
  • Iran seizes U.S. embassy and holds hostages for 444 days -- Carter impotent to act.
  • Soviet Union invades and occupies Afghanistan -- Carter's reaction is to boycott the Olympics. He said "I can't believe Brehznev lied to me".
  • Soviet Union expands influence in Africa and Central America -- Sandinistas take control of Nicaragua
  • Double-digit inflation and a recession.
  • Gas crisis -- prices jump causing inflation
  • Dow Jones Industrial Average stuck in neutral -- never rises above 1000
  • Blames Americans for the country's problems in his famous 'malaise' speech
The bottom line is this -- the mess we are in today can be traced directly back to Carter's weakness on Iran and his unwillingness to confront the Soviets in Afghanistan. If Carter had not sold out the Shah we would not have had an Islamic revolution in Iran. If Carter had been tough with Brehznev the Soviets might not have invaded Afghanistan. The Soviets eventual defeat led directly to the rise of the Taliban and Al Queda. Carter's legacy is 9/11 the War on Terror and the Democrat Party as currently constituted.

Oh, by the way, Carter and Hamas have endorsed B. Houssein Obama for Prez. Be afraid...be very afraid.
